Estonia: Old Towns, Wild Forests, and Island Life

Estonia was a quieter, more reflective trip — fewer crowds, more space to slow down and look closely.

Tallinn's Old Town is exactly the kind of place a camera loves — medieval walls, cobblestone streets, church spires, and cafes tucked into centuries-old buildings. Being UNESCO-listed, it's incredibly well preserved, and wandering it early in the morning before the crowds arrive felt like stepping back in time.

A short drive away, Lahemaa National Park opened up a completely different side of the country — dense forests, bogs, and a rugged coastline along the Baltic Sea. It's wildlife-rich and largely untouched, and the light filtering through the pine forests made for some of my favorite shots of the whole trip.

The island of Saaremaa rounded things out — windmills, lighthouses, and a slower island pace with a strong sense of history and tradition. There's something about island culture that feels distinct everywhere, and Saaremaa had its own quiet charm. A handful of these images are now in the Wanderlust gallery.
