Singapore: A City That Feels Like Tomorrow

Singapore has a way of making the future feel like it's already arrived. Over a few packed days, I tried to take in as much of its contrasts as possible — old and new, calm and electric.

Little India was the perfect place to start. The streets are loud with color — garlands of jasmine, gold jewelry stores, the smell of curry leaves and incense drifting out of tiny shopfronts. It's a world away from the glass towers just a few train stops down.

Gardens by the Bay is the kind of place photos don't quite do justice to. The Supertrees lit up at night, the cool air inside the domes, the sheer scale of it — it felt like walking through a sci-fi film set, except everything was real plants and engineering.

Marina Bay Sands was unavoidable — the rooftop view from the SkyPark at sunset, with the whole skyline and harbor laid out below, is one of those views that's worth the crowds.

And then there's Sentosa Island — a complete shift in pace. Beaches, cable cars, and a slower, holiday feel right next to one of the busiest ports in the world. A few of these shots made it into the Wanderlust gallery.
