USA Road Notes: California, Denver, and West Texas

The US is so vast that every region feels like its own country — and this trip across a few of them made that obvious fast.

California brought the classic mix — coastal drives, golden light along the Pacific, and cities that shift character completely within a few miles. Whether it was the coastline or the urban sprawl, there was always something to point a camera at.

Denver was a change of altitude, literally — that crisp mountain air and the Rockies as a backdrop to the city made for a completely different kind of skyline shot. The light here felt sharper, the skies bigger.

And then west Texas — wide-open landscapes, long straight roads, and a sense of scale that's hard to capture in a single frame. The kind of place where the horizon does most of the work.

Together, these stops made for a great cross-section of what makes US road trips special — every few hundred miles, the scenery, light, and mood completely change. A few favorites from across these stops are in the Wanderlust and Sky & Light galleries.
